How to Measure your Space
Other things to consider…
The size of you window handles.
Most window handles sit close enough to the window so that they will not affect the blinds but some may. Most standard roller blinds are built on a 38mm spindle and the brackets measure 50mm wide so you need to allow fitting space to accommodate the handles.
TOP FIX OR FACE FIX brackets
The blind brackets are designed to fit to either the top of the recess or the head or casing of the window or frame.
STANDARD ROLLED OR REVERSE ROLLED
Most roller blinds are supplied & fitted standard rolled but some will be requested ‘reverse rolled’ (this simply means that the fabric is wrapped around the tube so that the fabric rolls off the front of the tube) This is commonly used when supplying fabric with Blackout backing as this is usually white so having the blind reverse rolled stops having a white fabric showing at the top of your fabric of choice.
Standard Roller or Cassette
Cassette rollers are becoming more common as they offer a more aesthetically pleasing finish, please ask the team at Amanda Winstone if your blind is suitable for a roller cassette.

When measuring you need to decide if you want your window dressing recessed or face fixed
Measure the WIDTH at the TOP, MIDDLE & BOTTOM of the window (in mm)
Measure the DROP at the RIGHT, MIDDLE & LEFT of the window (in mm)
Decide which side you would like the controls on (Left or Right)
Decide on the colour of the chain (Silver or White as standard)
Decide on the colour of the brackets White (as standard), Black or Anthracite.
Do you need bracket covers?
Do you want a standard roller or a cassette?
(See below for more detail)
For face fix we only need one (1) WIDTH measurement and the three (3) DROP lengths (in mm)
Most people will use the window board as the width measurement but this can be varied to suit your requirements. i.e. If having a blackout blind as face fix they are generally designed wider to benefit from the blackout properties of the fabric.
In some rooms (Bathrooms. Kitchens & Utility Rooms) you may have tiles fitted partway up the inside recess, in these cases we need the minimum measurement - inside the tiles.
The maximum blind width cannot be more than the measurement between the tiles so you may want to consider face fixing you blind if you are after maximum blackout.
